The Only Way To Be Poisoned

My first polish from Sincerely Polish and once again I am not disappointed. The color of Poison Paradise is a barely off white crelly with gold and iridescent glitters ranging in size from micro to the size of second biggest dotting tool. There are also blue and pink circle shaped glitter along with light green and iridescent squares.

One coat of this polish would be great for little girls under 10 (I don't believe in girls under 10 wearing fingernail polish). Two coats is perfect for any occasion but the first thing that came to mind was how beautiful it would be if I was to every get married again. When I look at it all I can think about is how perfect it would compliment any wedding dress. I feel that this is the one polish that should never be reformulated but could possibly be renamed. A few I have come up with at "No Wedding Day Jitters", "Something New", "I Do!", and last but not least "Down the Aisle".

(both pictures taken in artificial light)

My ring finger has nail decals from Nailed Kit. The stars really fit in with this polish based on the colors. They were very easy to use as this was my first time putting them on my nails.

As always until next time Keep on Polishing.

I Love Polish

Ok, so anyone who knows me knows that the most I can say about polish is that I really, really like it. My love is saved for God and my Family. I know you are probably wondering "Why did she name her post that way?" Then right after that question is finishing on your lips you realize that must be the name of the polish.

Yes, todays post is about the color I Love Polish by Polish Addict Nail Color. I am not a pink person. I use to be at one time but as you grow something's change. This is only the fourth pink polish I own in my collection. This color however when I saw it on the website was one I could not leave there. The pink is one that with one or two coats (example below) is a barely there pink with just enough color to work well in an office setting and still go out on a date and be sexy later on that night.

(two coats of polish)

Three coats of the polish gives off a playful look with all of the glitter scattered on your fingers. There is some holographic effect in the polish with a multitude of glitters in various shapes and colors. This makes it something that can be worn with anything you have in your closet. The small glitters come out easily with a simple shaking of the bottle for a minute before use, The larger glitters are easier to get at if the polish is stored on its side or even upside down. If you are not able to store the polish this way at least two minutes in either position before shaking the polish will do as well.

               (three coats of polish)
It was cloudy here so unfortunately this time there are no natural light pictures.

This polish so reminded me of life, something's will come easy and others we will have to work at or give them time. However in the end the result will be worth it.

As always Keep on Polishing.

Nailed Kit... Nail art made easy

There are so many options out here for nail art. I am frugal so most of them I find to be a little pricey so I have not purchased any of them. That is until I found out that Nailed Kit offered a subscription to their nail art water tattoos.
The cost for a subscription is $10.00 per month for 48 tattoos (shipping is free in the U.S.). When you break that down it is .21 cents per tattoo versus the normal .33 cents. The subscription can be cancelled at any time without any penalty to the consumer. I am not sure if this is customary or not but as you can see in the picture you also receive a handwritten card welcoming you to the club and a bonus gift of extra tattoos. Instructions on how to use the tattoos comes inside each package.
I have not had the chance to use them as of yet due to some personal issues but I am super excited to use the tattoos in the very near future. Also I can say that Nailed Kit's customer service is amazing. I received an e-mail along with other club members that some members had to pay for postage because the package weighed just over an ounce. They apologized and advised anyone that had to pay for the package to let them know and they would make it up to them. The error did not happen to me so I am not sure what they did to correct it but I am sure it was great.

I will be sure to post a picture of the tattoos once I use them on my nails.

Ivanka I Love Zoya's Frida!!!

My child loves blue and the school colors are green and gold so you can see how I chose this two colors.

Frida is my first jelly from Zoya but it will certainly not be my last. The color in the bottle does not do it justice once it is on the nails. This polish offers so many looks. One and two coats offer a hint of color to place glitter on top of. Three coats offer the ability to have not have it be so dark with a great shine. I actually put on four coats just because I do not like being able to see any hint of my nail. I have included shots of all coat levels below.

I really had on plans on doing anything other than a simple single paint manicure however as I was putting away my supplies I noticed Ivanka and thought how good it would look on an accent nail. We know that it was not hard for me to pick which nail was to be painted. While the nail made the mani pop (my childs favorite expression) it did so without over shadowing Frida.

I am signing off until next time and remember keep on polishing.

Magnetic Polish

Hello everyone, I know that magnetic polish is so last year, LOL. I was given these polishes compliments of Teddi's Tips because she was having problems getting them to work. If you have ever seen her nails you know they are beautiful and generally anything she tries she gets it perfect on the first go round. I have because of that fact had the polishes for several months but was scared to try it figuring I could only do worse. Today I tried one of the two polishes and was so happy with the results that I decided to blog about just in case someone else was having problems with polish as well.

I used Magnetix Nail Polish in purple. I loved the color when it separated. I got it to separate so well because I held the magnetic about a quarter of a inch from the nail for at least 15 seconds. I found less time did not allow the pattern to become as defined. I also would slowly turn my nail left to right.

Well until next time keep on polishing.

2013 Pro Bowl Tribute

I am not a girly girly. Anyone that knows me will tell you that. This nail blogging started because my child asked me to do something with my nails. So last night while watching the introduction of the Pro Bowl I thought the dresses at this link Pro Bowl opening Show where bright and summery. I figured with all the cold weather in the northeast this tribute would put some sunshine on my nails if not outside.

I used the following items below; CND Stickey base coat, dotting tools, Zoya Yummy, Zoya Creamy, and Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl.

The Zoya Creamy and Yummy were two of the three polishes I picked up in Zoya's 3 for $10 sale the first week of January. The creamy went on very streaky. Three coats in and I figured it would have to do. This is not something I have had to deal with before with a Zoya polish so I was surprised. The pictures are before clean up. Subtle but I am loving it.

Well until next time keep on polishing.

The Hits Just Keep on Coming

Today I received my order from Llarowe and boy am I happy. I will definitely be ordering from there again. Their customer service is second to none!!
Tomorrow is a baskbetball game so that decided which color of those that I received that I would use first. Hits Mari Moon Trendy is the first color I am using. This multi chrome has green and yellow as its primary colors. You can also see blue and orange at certain angles. I used three coats to get rid of the streaks.
I can honestly say that I am not sure I am going to be able to wait until I use the next color from Mari Moon line but I am going to try.
As always until next time keeping on polishing.

New Year Day Nail

I know, I know I have not been here in awhile. I have been busy with a couple of new directions my life has taken. I am now back. I started the New Year off with Sinful Colors.
While I was not crazy about the color Rise and Shine in the bottle it looks wonderful on my nails. I used only two coats of polish to get it to look even.

I wanted something to accent the green color and so I chose to use Sinful Colors Nova. I placed it on in what I called a slanted french tip. When looking at the bottle of Nova it appears to be a black base with fine green and blue glitter. However once you put it on you realize that the color is a navy to midnight blue depending on how many coats of polish you use.

My accent nail is still Rise and Shine but with one coat of Nail Junkie on top. My favorite glittter polish of all times.

All pictures are before clean up. I apologize for this but had to leave in a rush and wanted to take pictures just in case.

Happy New Year everyone and remember keep on polishing.

$.99 Buy for Some of the Best Colors

Walgreens is my favorite place today. They have Sinful Colors polish on sale for $.99. This basically adds up to but one get one free since they are normally $1.99. This sale is until 10/27/2012.
I have done a month of blogs about Sinful Colors polish. The color below is Cinderella. This color is a pale blue with small pink shimmers visable in light only. I only did a basic mani in this color because I found it hard to find something to do with the color that would not destract from the colors simplicity. Okay little sappy if I do say so myself. LOL.
Well I hope you take advantage of the sale because I know I did. Until next time keep on polishing.

My First Dot Gradient

So this idea was born out off my over use of my new dotting tools and my epic failure(my person feelings even though others said it wasn't bad) at a regular gradient. I was looking for something where I could give my fingers a break from all of the color because my nails were beginning to turn yellow. Yes, I do use a base coat to those that are thinking that is what my problem is. I just think I need a new base coat but I have not decided on what I am going to use. I am still doing research on that.

I started off with my current base coat and then placed on one layer of Sally Hansen Hard as Nails. I then keeping with my theme of 30 days of Sinful Colors used my dotting tool and started with Sinful Colors Bali Mist (a purplish pink). Kismet (pink with brown undertones) is my next dot. The final color comes from the recently released Sinful Colors metallic line called Hot Wired. I finished it off with my Sally Hansen Top Coat and Viola! it is done.

I am quite pleased with the my first attempt at so many dots and a gradient. I am sure it would have been neater had I not decided to do my nails during the second presidential debate. Jumping around and hollering at the television is not a good thing when painting your nails.

A Newbie's Must Have Color!!!!

Okay I have only been this excited about a color one time before now. This Metallic Sinful Color Hot Hot Heat is my new go to color!!

I knew after the first coat that I had a replacement for my previous favorite color. I want to paint my toes fingers and anyone else's fingers and toes with this color. The color is flawless in application. Whatever is in this formula I am begging Revlon (who recently purchased the brand) to make sure that this formula is kept and even duplicated to other colors.

I dare you to find another color that can go on this easy and make your nails look this good with this little effort. I don't even have accent nail and you know that is not normal for me. There is only one picture with no top coat because that is all is needed.

Until next time keep on polishing.

Winter's Coming And Boy Is It Beautiful!!!

Today's Sinful Color is Winterberry. I chose this color as a tribute to National Domestic Violence since it is October.

I sort of get the feeling that a little pink and grey were mixed in with a grape purple. The color alone after only two coats was beautiful. This is the first polish of the Sinful line that I can say I do not have a compliant about. It went on smooth and even.

The sparkles are coming from NYC Starry Glitter. I originally was only going to do a accent nail but I mistakenly painted the wrong nail. I liked it so much that I decided to paint them all.

Well until next time keep it clean and simple.

Moss Have Sinful Colors Hot Metallic

Green has never been a color good on me until now. Sinful hit it out of the park with this color Moss Have.  The color is mute and vibrant all at the same time. Three coats were needed to get the color opaque to my liking. I am still not happy with the slight streaks that still existed after the three coats. I am wondering if it was because of metallic in the polish.
I decided this time to not spend all night with my accent nail so I took some silver glitter and just pressed it onto my favorite nail and then added a top coat. While simple the pictures did not do it justice. t made the finger just pop. My four year old nephew just could not believe his auntie did that all by myself. It made me smile from ear to ear.
I always have a top coat and even with that on the color chipped in two days time. This is my second draw back with the color. I however decided to refresh the manicure using the Moss Have as a accent using my dotting tools. I know this is a month of Sinful Colors but I had just purchased Zoya's Ivy.
This color is a burgundy red with multitude of gold shimmer. I really like this color and think it helps the Moss Have shine even brighter. I only have on two coats on of Ivy. I bet it would only get better if I get up to four coats. I guess later I will test that theory and get back to you.

Sinful's Courtney Orange

Well I know that Halloween is a ways off and that most people would have left this color for review at that time. I however do not celebrate Halloween and I felt like seeing what my first orange nail polish looked like on my hands.  This color Courtney Orange is from Sinful Colors 2009 collection.
Since this blog is for people like myself just getting into polishing I decided this time to show you what my hands look like from start to finish. I knew after a polish test that I would need to double up on the base coat. I always do a polish because I like to be able to sometimes where nothing but clear polish and need them to be white. A good base coat keeps the nails looking like the picture below. I also overlapped the base coat just to make sure that I could get any mistakes cleaned up easy.
I only had to use two coats of the polish due to the richness of the color. I have to say this also went on without any streaks or splotches. I really liked this color and I am not a orange person. I think the color while vibrant is not loud. My accent nail was done with my dotting tools I purchased from amazon.com. I would like to say thank you to Teddi from the blog Teddi's Tips. I placed two drops of Caribbean Cocktail by Sephora by OPI on a piece of paper. I then took my large dotting tool and just dipped it in one time and then placed it on the nail. This was the first time that I used the tool and I found that I am going to need to find a way to make the polish thicker for the larger dot tool. The larger dots are the only dots that ran. They had more of a oval shape then circular one.
Well until the next sinful moment have a great time.

I'm a Nail Junkie on the island of Fiji.

After my first attempt at a water marble I really began to like Sinful Colors nail polish. After picking up some hard to find colors I decided to do a month long tribute to Sinful Colors.  This first manicure is of two colors.

Fiji is a beautiful purple. It starts off looking like a thin layer of grape jelly. As you apply more coats it gets to be so much deeper with almost a mirror shine. I have on four coats. I would have gone to six because I just could not believe how great this color was looking. It went on smooth. This is one color that I was not putting on more coats to cover up streaks.

Nail Junkie is light blue base with multi colored and size glitter. I only put one coat on because I wanted the Fiji to still be seen but just jazz it up a bit. While I only did this as a accent nail I will one day make this my complete manicure. I feel that it is interesting to wear as a night out on the town but still professional enough to wear to the office.

Clean up of the excess polish was easy since it was only the first coat that was outside of nail bed. I can not wait until my next polish! Check back and see what color I do next.
