Black Butterfly
I have never been good at drawing yet I really wanted to get a butterfly mani done so I sucked up my no art having nerves and decided to try it on my nails.
I first purchased some art brushes from my local art supply store. I first painted my nails two tone using Sally Hansen Blizzard Blue and Zoya Faith.
I then took Wet n Wild Black Crème (424a) and painted the nail at a angle first. I took the 1/10 brush and then drew a arch from left to right mimicking a half moon or crescent moon. I then drew lines from the angle to the arch (generally about three to four lines only). You will have to go over the lines and the arch twice to make it as dark as the slant at the top of the nail. I made the dots using my dotting tools and Wet n Wild French White (449c).
I think not to bad for my first try. Practice always makes perfect so I can not wait to do this one again.
As you know Keep On Polishing.

How Sweet It Is!
This is my first attempt at a Spun Sugar manicure. I think it came out wonderful for my first time. My only complaint would be that the lines are a little thick. I think that I let the polish dots air dry for too long. The colors used were Zoya Purity for the base and as the spun sugar on the accent nail. Wet N Wild Listening to Blue Reed as the base on the accent nail. The spun sugar colors are Wet N Wild Teal Slowly and See, Stand the Test of Lime and Who is Ultra Violet. This was the pop art collection from Wet N Wild. I am normally not a bright color type of person but I really love the way these colors look on my hand.
Well until next time Keep on Polishing.

Memorial Day Honors
So this post is a day late but not a dollar short. While it is not my prettiest (in my opinion) one it is my most important one. I did a tribute to the armed forces. I did realize after carefully planning each finger that I forgot the National Guard. I will come up with something for them and display it in the near future.
The order of the forces from thumb to pinkie finger are Marines, Coast Guard, Navy, Army and the Air Force.
The marine nail is a cross between a braid or fishtail and a chevron pattern. The colors used can be found in the Marine dress blues (hopefully the correct term).
Hot Hot Heat (red) - SinfulColors
All About You (gold) - SinfulColors
All Mighty (blue) - SinfulColors
The coast guard nail was something new I tried with a toothpick. I started with the nail being covered in white. I then dipped the toothpick in the polish and while swirling the toothpick on the nail I turned it around to get the color to deposit.
Tokyo Pearl (white) - Sinful Colors
Courtney Orange - Sinful Colors
All Mighty (blue) - SinfulColors
The navy nail was a free hand half and half nail that was pretty straight but one small curve in each had me go from a plan of stripes to dots.
Hot Hot Heat (red) - SinfulColors
Caribbean Cocktail (blue) - Sephora by OPI
449C (white) - Wet n Wild Wild Shine
The army nail is my favorite. The base is white and then I sponged on the other colors using the tooth pick to make the black lines.
Tokyo Pearl (white) - SinfulColors
Mystery (brown) - Contrary Polish
Baker (khaki) - Cult Nails
Tempest (green) - SinfulColors
The air force nail is not the true air force blue but more the color of the sky since that is where you can find them flying.
Toyko Pearl (white) - SinfulColors
Gorgeous (blue/green) - SinfulColors

Magnetic Polish
Hello everyone, I know that magnetic polish is so last year, LOL. I was given these polishes compliments of Teddi's Tips because she was having problems getting them to work. If you have ever seen her nails you know they are beautiful and generally anything she tries she gets it perfect on the first go round. I have because of that fact had the polishes for several months but was scared to try it figuring I could only do worse. Today I tried one of the two polishes and was so happy with the results that I decided to blog about just in case someone else was having problems with polish as well.
I used Magnetix Nail Polish in purple. I loved the color when it separated. I got it to separate so well because I held the magnetic about a quarter of a inch from the nail for at least 15 seconds. I found less time did not allow the pattern to become as defined. I also would slowly turn my nail left to right.

2013 Pro Bowl Tribute
I am not a girly girly. Anyone that knows me will tell you that. This nail blogging started because my child asked me to do something with my nails. So last night while watching the introduction of the Pro Bowl I thought the dresses at this link Pro Bowl opening Show where bright and summery. I figured with all the cold weather in the northeast this tribute would put some sunshine on my nails if not outside.
I used the following items below; CND Stickey base coat, dotting tools, Zoya Yummy, Zoya Creamy, and Sinful Colors Tokyo Pearl.
The Zoya Creamy and Yummy were two of the three polishes I picked up in Zoya's 3 for $10 sale the first week of January. The creamy went on very streaky. Three coats in and I figured it would have to do. This is not something I have had to deal with before with a Zoya polish so I was surprised. The pictures are before clean up. Subtle but I am loving it.

The Hits Just Keep on Coming
Today I received my order from Llarowe and boy am I happy. I will definitely be ordering from there again. Their customer service is second to none!!
Tomorrow is a baskbetball game so that decided which color of those that I received that I would use first. Hits Mari Moon Trendy is the first color I am using. This multi chrome has green and yellow as its primary colors. You can also see blue and orange at certain angles. I used three coats to get rid of the streaks.
I can honestly say that I am not sure I am going to be able to wait until I use the next color from Mari Moon line but I am going to try.
As always until next time keeping on polishing.

First Braided Mani
I am so proud of myself! I have been seeing people with this manicure for quite some time. My good friend at Teddi's Tips had this manicure a few months ago. Everyone I saw with the manicure had used tape or painted white tip guides and braided those. I wanted to do it free hand however, anyone that knows me knows I do not have one artistic bone in my body. This is why it has taken me so long to do this manicure and I got it right the first time out.
I used Avon Blue Royale Suede Nail Enamel for my base. This is a metallic matte polish (say that five times fast). Do not be scared when you see the polish go on wet and stay wet. Once completely dry it will be a matte finish.
My braids are done in Nubar Iris Dust and NYC Big Money Frost. I felt that the shine would be nice against the matte. I started each color at a angle and then just rolled my finger so that the polish was at a angle. I repeated the process with each color.
You can expect many more of these to come maybe even a full hand. Until next time keep on polishing.

New Year Day Nail
I know, I know I have not been here in awhile. I have been busy with a couple of new directions my life has taken. I am now back. I started the New Year off with Sinful Colors.
While I was not crazy about the color Rise and Shine in the bottle it looks wonderful on my nails. I used only two coats of polish to get it to look even.
I wanted something to accent the green color and so I chose to use Sinful Colors Nova. I placed it on in what I called a slanted french tip. When looking at the bottle of Nova it appears to be a black base with fine green and blue glitter. However once you put it on you realize that the color is a navy to midnight blue depending on how many coats of polish you use.
My accent nail is still Rise and Shine but with one coat of Nail Junkie on top. My favorite glittter polish of all times.
All pictures are before clean up. I apologize for this but had to leave in a rush and wanted to take pictures just in case.
Happy New Year everyone and remember keep on polishing.
